AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Journalists from across the Arab world gathered in Beirut on Friday in pursuit of a more cohesive position against next week’s US-led conference in Bahrain.
The journalists organized a conference of their own, which was also attended by regional politicians and activists.
The event’s final communiqué accused Washington of working to “deny the Palestinian people their rights in their own land.”
The June 25-26 meeting in Manama is being used as a venue for the unveiling of the Trump administration’s so-called ‘deal of the century’.
Although Palestinians have rejected the deal for being bias in favor of Tel Aviv, the White House continues to insist that its plan is meant to bring about a settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The final communiqué of the Beirut gathering describes the Trump administration’s deal as “disgraceful”, warning that it is meant to eradicate the struggle for an independent Palestinian state.
