AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Another detainee in Bahrain’s Jaw Prison has gone on hunger strike this week over his lack of access to proper medical treatment.
Bahraini rights campaigner Ebtisam al-Saegh reported on Tuesday that 29-year-old Hussain Ibrahim al-Tawil has been on hunger strike for the last 48 hours.
According to al-Saegh, the treatment that Al-Tawil requires for his diabetes is irregularly administered by authorities in Jaw, causing the prisoner’s health to deteriorate.
Al-Tawil was sentenced to life imprisonment last year following a mass ‘terrorism’ trial, which was marred by allegations of torture.
Al-Tawil is among countless inmates in Jaw who say they are being deprived of proper health care.
