Quds Day in World-Bahrain;

Sheikh Isa Qassim calls on masses to renew their commitment to Palestine on Quds Day

Bahrain’s highest religious authority Sheikh Isa Qassim called on the ‘masses to renew’ their commitment to Palestine on the occasion of International Quds Day.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahrain’s highest religious authority Sheikh Isa Qassim called on the ‘masses to renew’ their commitment to Palestine on the occasion of International Quds Day.

Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan and is normally marked by rallies in cities around the world by both Muslim and non-Muslim communities.

It was initiated by the Iranian leadership in 1979 in a show of solidarity with the Palestinian cause and in opposition to the Israeli occupation of Palestine, which includes the annexation of Jerusalem (Al-Quds).

In a statement penned on Thursday, Sheikh Qassim said the occasion is meant to unite Muslims “for the sake of Palestine”.

“It is an appeal to all the nation’s masses and generations not to be at ease, nor to close their eyes, unless sovereignty and the sanctities are restored and the land and its wealth returned to its legitimate people and decision making becomes independent and is free from the arrogant foreign domination,” the statement added.

The senior Shiite cleric also reiterated his condemnation of the Trump administration’s so-called “deal of the century” – a portion of which is due to be unveiled in Bahrain next month.

According to Sheikh Qassim, both the deal and the Bahrain conference are designed to “give acceptance to the contract of slavery and the dictates of enemies”.

“It is a despicable, stupid, suicidal and losing sale. Perhaps it was compensation for a miserable livelihood. But the one being sold was Man with all his abilities, his sanctities, his pride, his freedom, his land, his wealth, and what is inside the ground and above it,” Sheikh Qassim stated.
