AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahraini Shiite cleric Sheikh Yassin al-Jamri is back in detention after being summoned for questioning by Manama’s security services on Wednesday.
There is no official explanation for his arrest but according to unconfirmed reports, the cleric was detained over one of his lectures.
Last September, Al-Jamri was among a handful of Shiite clergymen who were arrested over the content of their sermons in the lead-up to the annual Ashura commemorations – a 10-day mourning period during the Islamic lunar month of Muharram that honors the martyrdom of Imam Hussein.
Al-Jamri was suspected of ‘inciting hatred against the regime’ and spent more than a month in jail while being investigated.
