Rights group concerned about ‘increasingly dire’ situation in Bahrain’s Jaw Prison

The Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD) expressed concern about current conditions in Bahrain’s Jaw Prison, which have become “increasingly dire”.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD) expressed concern about current conditions in Bahrain’s Jaw Prison, which have become “increasingly dire”.

The rights group said in a Twitter post on Wednesday that one of the detainees at Jaw, Ali Al-Hajee, has not seen his family and young child for over 800 days.

Al-Hajee had recently spent more than two months on hunger strike over his lack of access to proper health care.

He is also among a handful of prisoners that are boycotting family visits due to what BIRD says are “humiliating restrictions”.
