AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Exiled Bahraini human rights defender, Sayed Ahmed AlWadaei, has vowed that he “will not rest” until his mother-in-law, Hajer Mansoor, is free.
AlWadaei staged a protest outside the Bahraini Embassy in London on Tuesday to mark the third birthday that the 51-year-old Mansoor is spending behind bars.
“We want to send her a message that she lives in our heart — they may take away her freedom but they cannot take away her dignity or her strength,” AlWadaei was quoted as saying by Britain’s Morning Star newspaper.
Earlier this year, a Manama court upheld Mansoor’s three-year prison sentence, which she received for allegedly planting a fake explosive device.
Rights groups and the United Nations accuse Manama of jailing Mansoor in an act of reprisal against AlWadaei’s activism in the UK.
