AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Saturday pardoned or reduced sentences of 1,117 inmates who were sentenced by the public and revolutionary courts.
The amnesty was given on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and marking anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran (April 1).
Supreme Leader's amnesty was granted upon a proposal by Judiciary Chief Hojatoleslam Ebrahim Rayeesi in line with fulfillment of Clause 11 under Article 110 of the constitution.
