AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Three Bahraini female detainees have reportedly failed to contact their families for several days now, raising concerns over their wellbeing.
Bahraini rights campaigner Ebtisam Al-Saegh reported on Friday that there has been no word from the prisoners, who are housed at the Isa Town Women’s Detention Centre, for the last 48 hours.
In a post on social media, Al-Saegh named the three as Amira Al-Qashaami as well as the two sisters Fatima and Iman Ali Abdullah.
Fatima and Iman were convicted in February of last year for allegedly aiding a ‘fugitive’. They were given three years in prison.
Meanwhile, Al-Qashaami was slapped with a five-year prison sentence over the same charge.
Rights campaigners condemned the verdicts as being “politically motivated”.
