AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society is vowing that Bahrainis will reject Manama’s efforts to normalize ties with Tel Aviv after senior officials from a number of Persian Gulf monarchies and Israel attended an international conference in Warsaw.
The conference organized by the Americans and centered on countering Iran is being heralded by the Israelis for moving the Arabs closer toward a more open interaction with Tel Aviv.
The Bahraini delegation was led by Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who promised that his country would “eventually” establish diplomatic ties with Israel.
According to Al-Wefaq, such a position is not representative of the Bahraini people and further highlights the regime’s lack of “popular legitimacy”.
“The people of Bahrain in all spectrums and components reject what happened at the failed Warsaw conference,” the Bahraini opposition group said in a statement on Saturday.
