AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Three Bahraini detainees have reportedly ended their hunger strike after authorities signaled their readiness to meet the prisoners’ demands.
According to the UK-based Bahrain Alyoum, the warden at Bahrain’s Jaw Prison has granted Naji Fateel and Ali Al-Hajee access to proper health care after the pair spent more than two months on hunger strike.
Bahrain Alyoum cited Al-Hajee’s family as its source and reported that Fateel ended his hunger strike several days ago after being rushed to hospital and fed intravenously.
Both men are said to be suffering from numerous health complications.
Meanwhile, SALAM for Democracy and Human Rights tweeted on Tuesday that jailed Bahraini political activist Mohammed al-Singace had also halted his hunger strike.
Al-Singace apparently received assurances from Bahrain’s Ombudsman that the oversight body would look into his complaints.
Earlier this month, al-Singace had reached out to SALAM to convey his demands to all bodies concerned with his case.
In a voice recording, he asked for the formation of a “transparent and impartial commission” to investigate his torture as well as his right to a free and fair trial guaranteed.
