AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Monday marked four months since Bahraini female detainee Amira Al-Qashaami received a visit from any member of her family.
Al-Qashaami has been boycotting family visits over the presence of glass partitions at the visitation center of the Isa Town Women’s Prison.
Her sister, Bint al-Huda, wrote in a Twitter post on Monday that the four-month long boycott was the result of an ‘unjust decision’.
The glass partitions were reinstated in 2017, prohibiting any kind of physical contact between detainees and their visitors.
Amira was arrested along with her brother and father in February 2017 and later slapped with a five-year prison sentence for allegedly aiding a fugitive – a charge she vehemently denies.
