Seventh General Assembly Session to be held in 2019

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): December 31 coincided with the anniversary of the foundation of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly.

The head of the Supreme Council of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly, at the same time as the twenty-eighth anniversary of the establishment of the organization, said: Dec. 31 is the establishment of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly, which was set up by the Supreme Leader in the early years of his leadership in 1990.

Ayatollah Mohsen Mojtahed Shabestari, who spoke with Radio Maarraf about the goals of establishing this international institution, stated: "The Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly was established with the aim of reviving and expanding the culture and teachings of Islam, protecting the privacy of the Qur'an, prophetic tradition and Ahlul-Bayt, helping to grow and reform the intellectual, cultural, political, economic and social status of followers of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) and addressing the problems of followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) on every continent they live in. Of course, the Assembly can not provide all the suffering of followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and will help as much as possible to resolve their problems."

He also commented on the structure of the Assembly that Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly has pillars that One of them is the General Assembly and the session of General Assembly of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly will be held every four years.
So far, six summits have been held and next year the General Assembly summit will be held. Usually, 400 to 700 Muslim scholars and Shiite personalities from different countries participated in the past forums of the Assembly.

Ayatollah Shabestari commented on the Supreme Council of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly as one of the pillars of the Assembly that About twenty domestic and foreign personalities are members of the Supreme Council. The Supreme Council ratifies the general policy of the Assembly and implements some important projects. For example, the establishment of the Ahlul-Bayt (AS) news agency (ABNA) - in 25 languages - the establishment of the Thaqalayn network and the approval of the annual budget, is one of the Supreme Council's resolutions. Also, members of the Supreme Council control the Secretariat of the Assembly.

He stated that the third pillar of the assembly is the Secretariat, adding: "The secretariat deals with executive activities such as publishing and releasing publications and books. So far, 1800 books have been published about the teachings of Islam and Ahlul Bayt (AS) in 55 languages by the Assembly."

He added that the implementation of the Supreme Council's resolutions is the responsibility of the Secretariat of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly, and executive tasks is responsible to the Secretary General of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly who working with deputies to perform executive tasks.

Ayatollah Shabestari commented on the performance and satisfaction of the activities of the Universal Assembly of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly during these years that needs of the followers of the Ahlul Bayt (PBUH) in the world are much more than that. Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly almost has been able to serve the followers of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) around the world.
