AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Rights campaigner Ebtisam Al-Saegh is calling on administrators at Bahrain’s Jaw Prison to put a stop to violations against detainees amid allegations that prisoners are being deprived of food.
On Tuesday, Al-Saegh reported that cancer survivor, Elias Al-Mulla, has recently been receiving inadequate quantities of food.
According to the activist, prisoners with foreign nationalities have been tasked with food distribution at the facility. They trade the meals for household cleaning products – a practice Al-Saegh describes as ‘the law of the jungle.’
Jaw detainees have repeatedly claimed that they are subjected to a systematic campaign of abuses, which includes torture and deliberate medical negligence.
