AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Female Bahraini detainee Iman Ali is reportedly being denied medical treatment by authorities at the Isa Town Women’s Detention Centre.
According to the Duraz Mirror Twitter page, the authorities refused to transfer Ali to hospital as her health deteriorated.
The group did not elaborate further on her condition.
Iman is one of three sisters convicted in February of this year for allegedly aiding a ‘fugitive’. The siblings were given three years in prison.
At the time, rights campaigners condemned the verdict as being “politically motivated”.
Rights groups have also accused Manama in the past of deliberately denying health care to inmates – a practice Amnesty International labeled as “willful medical negligence.”
