AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Yemeni troops inflicted heavy losses on Saudi-backed forces in an attack in the Arabian Peninsula country’s strategic western coastal province of Hudaydah.
The Yemeni army and popular committees scored gains against Saudi mercenaries west of Hudaydah airport, managing to inflict casualties on their forces and military vehicles.
A video published by Yemeni media featuring the operation shows burned out equipment and dead bodies of the Saudi- backed forces in the battlefield. The Yemeni forces also seized significant amounts of military equipment from the enemy.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE launched an offensive on June 13 to capture Hudaydah, the main entry point for food in a country teetering on the brink of famine.
The operation, however, came into an immediate halt in the face of stiff resistance by Houthi Ansarullah movement fighters and residents of the port city, which forced the kingdom to wind down the push.
