AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The health of Bahraini detainee Sayed Alawi Hussain has reportedly deteriorated over the course of the last five months.
Hussain’s wife wrote in a Twitter post this week that her husband has been suffering from high blood pressure for quite some time now.
Hussain was among seven men who were convicted by Manama’s military court on allegedly terrorism charges and sentenced to death.
Earlier this year, the defendants had their death sentences commuted to life imprisonment.
Hussain’s case grabbed the attention of rights groups after he was led away by four armed men from his place of work in October 2016.
The 44-year old telecommunications engineer was forcibly disappeared for a year before he resurfaced to be tried by a military court.
