AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Five Iranian border guards who had been captured by terrorists are freed and efforts are underway for release of the remaining Iranians, said IRGC commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari.
'Five of the abducted Mirjaveh Border guards were freed and efforts are underway to secure release of other hostages,' said Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad-Ali Jaafari at a press conference on Thursday.
He said the hostage takers are trying to have a number of their political criminals released but basically it will not be wise for the Islamic Republic of Iran to bow to the demand.
'The release of all the Iranian border guards will take time but there is no room to worry about.'
Fourteen Basij (volunteer forces) and border guard forces were abducted by terrorists in Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan border with Pakistan on October 15. Jeish ul-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility for the act.
