Ayatollah al-Modarresi:‎

Imam Hussain (AS) pilgrims must make use of pilgrimage to take account of their souls ‎

The senior Iraqi scholar said, “The Arba’in pilgrimage is the best opportunity to take ‎account of their souls and seek forgiveness from God Almighty.” ‎

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The senior Iraqi scholar said, “The Arba’in pilgrimage is the best opportunity to take ‎account of their souls and seek forgiveness from God Almighty.” ‎

In his annual message on the occasion of Arba’in al-Husayn, Ayatollah Sayyid ‎Muhammad-Taqi al-Modarresi, a senior Iraqi scholar wrote, “On the Day of Ashura, Imam al-‎Husayn said, ‘Is there any protector to defend the women of the Messenger of God? Is ‎there any monotheist who fears God through us? Is there any aide who would seek God ‎through aiding us? Is there any helper who would seek the rewards from God through ‎helping us?’ You pilgrims responded to the sorrowful cry of the Master of the Martyrs [Imam ‎al-Husayn] and shouted the cry of ‘Labbayk Ya Husayn’ [‘We are at your service, Oh ‎Husayn!’] with your hearts.’”‎

He said that the pilgrims of Imam al-Husayn are considered as the “guests of God Almighty” ‎and added, “In a hadith from Imam Ali al-Ridha, it is said, ‘Whomsoever was to visit the ‎grave of Abi Abdullah al-Husayn by the Euphrates river is similar to the one who has visited ‎God Almighty above His throne.’”‎

Ayatollah al-Modarresi emphasized that Karbala is considered a piece of paradise and added, ‎‎“Millions of pilgrims visit this sacred place and due to God Almighty’s pardoning, they are ‎hopeful of the forgiveness of their sins of the past and future.”‎

He considered the accounting of the soul as necessary and said, “The pilgrims of Imam al-‎Husayn must take account of their soul such that they remember the sins that they have ‎committed in the past and seek forgiveness and be resolute that they will not repeat their ‎past mistakes.”‎

Ayatollah al-Modarresi stated, “The pilgrims of Imam al-Husayn are in paradise so they must ‎be vigilant about the temptations of Satan because, just as Satan caused the father of ‎mankind, Prophet Adam, to fall from paradise, if man has sworn to the actions of this ‎enemy that he will not be vigilant, it is possible that he may also be ensnared by its tricks ‎and allow it to find a way to enter his heart.”‎
