AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): One of Bahrain’s most senior religious scholars Sheikh Abdul-Hussein Al-Sitri will be laid to rest on Monday afternoon on the kingdom’s island of Sitra.
His fellow scholars expressed “great sadness and sorrow” following news of his passing on Sunday, describing the cleric as one of Bahrain’s “pillars”.
Meanwhile, the country’s opposition Al-Wefaq movement extended its condolences to the people of Bahrain and called on them to take part in the planned funeral procession.
Al-Weafq praised Sheikh Al-Sitri for advocating both peace and the rights of Bahraini citizens.
