AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahrain’s religious scholars have echoed calls for a boycott of upcoming parliamentary and municipal elections in the Gulf kingdom, describing the polls as “unjust”.
In a statement on Wednesday, the scholars warned that taking part in the vote would translate into “participating in injustice and oppression of the Muslim people.”
“The false sham elections are no longer fooling anyone in this world,” the statement adds.
Bahrain’s planned elections on November 24 come at a time when all of the country’s opposition movements are banned and its members prohibited from holding seats in parliament.
