AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A mass trial involving 169 Bahrainis is set to resume on October 29 after being adjourned on Tuesday.
The latest delay in proceedings reportedly comes as the court waits for hear testimony from prosecution witnesses.
The defendants in the case are being tried for taking part in a sit-in near the home of the country’s highest religious authority Sheikh Isa Qassim, which was attacked by Manama’s security forces last May.
Aside from the hundreds of arrests, five people were killed, and Sheikh Qassim was placed under house during the raid.
In January, 140 defendants were freed on bail. Others who face more serious charges including assaulting police officers remain in detention.
