AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Jailed Bahraini opposition MP Sheikh Hasan Isa had his appeal proceedings adjourned yet again on Tuesday. The next hearing has been scheduled for October 29.
In a process that has dragged on for months due to repeated delays, Sheikh Isa is appealing a ten-year prison sentence.
Arrested in 2015 and later charged with “financing terrorism”, the former deputy was a member of the opposition Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society.
In August, Al-Wefaq marked three years since Sheikh Isa’s arrest by calling for his immediate release and describing his continuing imprisonment as an act of ‘political revenge’.
