Bahrain’s well-known anti-regime protester jailed for taking part in ‘unsanctioned’ Ashura march

One of Bahrain’s most well-known anti-regime protesters is back in jail after taking part in what is being described as an ‘unsanctioned’ Ashura march.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): One of Bahrain’s most well-known anti-regime protesters is back in jail after taking part in what is being described as an ‘unsanctioned’ Ashura march.

68-year-old Hajj Majeed Abdulla Hasan has reportedly been detained for 15 days by order of the public prosecutor pending an investigation.

Tens of thousands of Bahrainis were taking part in Ashura commemorations throughout the day on Thursday, marking the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Imam Hussein (AS).

However, some of the mourners were attacked by the kingdom’s security forces and the marches dispersed with teargas.
