AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): There is growing concern in Bahrain’s Diraz over the fate of six minors who were detained following a police raid on the village earlier this week.
Since September 10, Bahraini authorities have failed to release any information regarding the location, charges, or physical well-being of the youngsters.
Among those arrested was 14-year-old Ali Al-Sayed Mahdi.
Mahdi’s grandfather headed a delegation last month that visited the Bahraini monarch Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and demanded the release of political prisoners.
The number of Bahraini minors detained without cause or an arrest warrant has risen substantially since last October with rights groups warning that children are being subjected to ill-treatemnt in detention.
