AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Manama’s security forces arrested another minor on Monday so that he may serve out the remainder of his six-month prison sentence.
Hani Allawi was accused of taking part in an ‘illegal gathering’ – a term used by Manama’s prosecutors to jail anyone participating in anti-regime protests.
The number of Bahraini minors taken into police custody has risen substantially since last October.
Countless rights groups, including Human Rights Watch (HRW), blasted Manama in the past for “routinely” detaining children and subjecting them to “ill-treatment that may rise to the level of torture.”
