Bahraini activists voice concerns over fate of two youths detained last week

Bahraini activists are voicing their concerns over the wellbeing of two youths detained by Manama’s security forces last week.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahraini activists are voicing their concerns over the wellbeing of two youths detained by Manama’s security forces last week.

Ammar Al-Fardan and Ahmed Jaber were taken into custody last Thursday before being transferred to the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation.

The directorate is a branch of the kingdom’s security apparatus that has a reputation for torturing the regime’s political opponents and critics.

There is no word yet on whether Al-Fardan and Jaber are being charged with a crime or what they are being accused of.

The thousands of Bahrainis detained in recent years are often denied their right to a lawyer and face ill-treatment in detention.
