AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Prominent rights campaigner Ebtisam Al-Saegh joined a chorus of voices calling on Manama to allow Bahraini prisoner of conscience Hassan Mushaima access to proper health care.
Al-Saegh visited Mushaima’s family home in Bahrain on Tuesday before taking to social media and demanding unconditional and unhindered medical treatment for the ailing detainee.
According to Amnesty International, prison authorities are refusing to replenish Mushaima’s long list of medications for erratic blood pressure, diabetes, urinary-tract irritation and gout.
The 70-year-old cancer survivor, who is serving a life sentence for his role in Bahrain’s 2011 popular uprising, also requires periodic screenings that he has not received in years.
