(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Bahraini photojournalist Hassan Qambar has been transferred to Jaw Prison after spending nearly one month in the custody of Manama’s security forces.
During that time he was denied access to family and lawyers.
Last month, eyewitnesses reported seeing Qambar at a military hospital on crutches, raising concerns over the possibility that he was being subjected torture.
Involved in filming and disseminating news about the unrest in the Bahrain, the photojournalist was sentenced in absentia to more than 120 years of prison time and had been a fugitive for six years.
He was arrested at his home in the Bahraini village of Nuwaidrat on June 12.
