(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Naberezhnye Chelny in 2019 will begin construction work for the cathedral mosque Jami`. This was announced during the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Jami mosque under the chairmanship of Mayor Nail Magdeev.
According to Imam-Muhtasib of Naberezhnye Chelny Alfas Hazrat Gayfullin, several questions were on the agenda, including report on the activities of the Fund to provide financial support for the construction by its leader Uel Khusainov.
He said that last year the foundation work was completed - the zero cycle and the basement floor have been laid. The cost of construction and installation works amounted to 23 million rubles. The construction company Stroitrast LLC did not fully receive the payment after completion of work, but agreed to wait. And in order not to accumulate debts, in 2018 it was decided not to conduct construction work.
However, as it became known, in 2019 the work will continue. It is planned to erect monolithic walls of the mosque and finish the design works, which needed adjustment because the project of the cathedral mosque was developed more than 25 years ago.
The Jami mosque began its construction in 1992 in the city center. For more than two decades, the religious object still remains under construction. Although according to the initial plan of the developers it should have become an adornment of the city and its uniqueness should have eclipsed the existing mosques in the republic. It was supposed that Jami would become the highest mosque in Tatarstan.
According to the initial design, the height of two of its four minarets will be 76 meters, while the height of the minarets of the Kazan mosque Kul Sharif is 58 meters.
The mosque can simultaneously accommodate up to 3 thousand parishioners. In addition, the square in front of the mosque, during religious holidays, will be able to accommodate up to 20 thousand believers.
