(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A group dedicated to tracking news about detainees from the northern Bahraini village of Karrana released their ‘timeline’ of events for the month of May, documenting more arbitrary arrests and abuses against prisoners.
The timeline also shows that Manama’s courts delayed a number of appeal hearings between May 7 and May 21.
On May 24, the kingdom’s high Criminal Court convicted Ahmad Al-Ojaimi on ‘terrorism’ charges before sentencing him to 7 years in prison and revoking his citizenship.
Meanwhile, authorities at Jaw Prison denied detainee Haidar Al-Mulla access to medical care on May 2 and just a few days later transferred him to solitary confinement.
In another one of the country’s prisons, the Dry Dock Detention Center, Hassan Abbas Al-Mowali and Mohamed Khalil Ibrahim were cut off from the outside world before being transferred to Jaw. Their families did not learn of their whereabouts for a week.
