(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Bahraini regime has resorted to using Jordanian forces in the clampdown on the peaceful protests in the Persian Gulf country, a local report said.
The crimes of Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Interior Minister Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in cracking down on the Bahraini people, who demand freedom and dignity by a peaceful revolution, have reached a point that they have pleaded with Jordanian forces to assist in repressing the people, the Arabic-language Manama Post reported.
There is some new information that proves Jordanian forces have received special training to crack down on the people, according to the report.
The confession about the presence of the Jordanian forces was made first in April 2014 by former Bahraini information minister Samira Rajab, who was later dismissed, the report said.
When asked to comment on the major scandal, Rajab confirmed the presence of Jordanian forces and said it is based on a security cooperation agreement between Manama and Amman.
Thousands of anti-regime protesters have held demonstrations in Bahrain on an almost daily basis ever since a popular uprising began in the country in mid-February 2011.
They are demanding that the Al Khalifa dynasty relinquish power and allow a just system representing all Bahrainis to be established.
Manama has gone to great lengths to clamp down on any sign of dissent. On March 14, 2011, troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were deployed to assist Bahrain in its crackdown.
Scores of people have lost their lives and hundreds of others sustained injuries or got arrested as a result of the Al Khalifa regime’s crackdown.
