(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A Quran competition jointly organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Uganda and the African country’s UBC TV channel, concluded late last week.
According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Quranic event was held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the competition, Ali Bakhtiari, the Iranian cultural attaché in Uganda, highlighted the importance of such Quran competitions in encouraging children and teenagers to learn the Quran.
He also highlighted some of the positive effects and blessings of the Quran in social life.
The secretary of the Supreme Council of Uganda’s National Media, who also addressed the event, thanked the Iranian center for cooperation with the TV channel and expressed hope that the cooperation will increase and cover other fields.
Quran recitation category was added to this year’s Quran competition, which was held for Muslim children and teenagers of the African country.
