(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD) reported on Thursday that Bahraini female political prisoners Hajer Mansoor Hassan and Medina Ali “are still refused access to medical treatment.”
The rights group also accused the UK-funded Ombudsman of being “ineffective in addressing their cases.”
Both Hajer and Medina were jailed following trials marred by reports of torture and forced confessions.
They are currently serving thee-year prison terms in Bahrain’s Isa Town Detention Center where they observed a number of hunger strikes over their ill-treatment in detention.
