(AhlulBayt News Agency) - It seems that hardly a day can go by without Manama’s courts handing out prison terms and citizenship revocations to defendants found guilty on alleged ‘terrorism’ charges.
Tuesday saw three more Bahrainis loose their citizenship and receive sentences ranging from 5 to 7 years in prison.
Over 120 Bahrainis have been stripped of their nationality during the past six days alone – all accused of terror-related offenses.
Rights groups allege that Manama is using its broad anti-terror legislation to jail and torture dissidents.
On Monday, SALAM for Democracy and Human Rights reported that the number of citizenship revocations in the Gulf kingdom since 2012 stands at 729.
