(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Manama’s appeals court is expected to issue a ruling in the case against prominent Bahraini human rights defender Nabeel Rajab on June 5.
Rajab is appealing a 5-year prison sentence. He was convicted in February for posting critical tweets of the Saudi-led war in Yemen and Manama’s treatment of prisoners.
During the latest hearing on Sunday, the court heard closing argument in the case.
At the time of his February conviction, Rajab was already serving a 2-year sentence over television interviews. He faces additional charges over op-eds published in western newspapers.
