(AhlulBayt News Agency) - One of Bahrain’s largest mass trials involving 171 defendants was adjourned on Tuesday until June 26.
The group is being tried for taking part in a sit-in near the home of the country’s highest religious authority Sheikh Isa Qassim, which was attacked by Manama’s security forces last May.
Aside from the hundreds of arrests, five people were killed, and Sheikh Qassim was placed under house during the raid.
Tuesday’s postponement of the proceedings comes as the court prepares to hear further testimony from witnesses.
In January, 140 defendants in the case were freed on bail.
