(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The appeal process in the case against Bahraini human rights defender Nabeel Rajab was adjourned until May 8 on Monday.
Rajab is appealing a 5-year prison sentence. He was convicted in February for posting critical tweets of the Saudi-led war in Yemen and Manama’s treatment of prisoners.
At the time of his conviction, he was already serving a 2-year sentence over television interviews.
Rights campaigners have attributed Rajab’s continued imprisonment to Manama’s ongoing crackdown against civil society and Bahraini dissidents, calling for his immediate release.
