Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani;

Senior Shia cleric: Those who don’t support IRGC "either ignorant or enemies of the Islamic Revolution"

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that those who don’t support the Revolutionary Guards are either ignorant or are the enemies of the Islamic Revolution and added, “The army also guards and preserves the Islamic Revolution.”

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - In a meeting with a group of officials and teachers at Hazrat Abolfazl Seminary, who are war veterans, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani said that some consider the criticism of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries as opposing the Islamic establishment and said this is a “serious mistake.”

“How is it that it reduces the position of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and humiliates it? If the Revolutionary Guards has had great power from the beginning and still is powerful, day by day, it will become stronger and have greater power in opposition to the enemies,” he stressed.

The revered source of emulation added, “One who does not support the Revolutionary Guards is either ignorant or is an enemy of the Revolution and just as the powerful army is the protector and guardian of the Revolution, the Revolutionary Guards are equally present on the scene.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani noted, “The army and the Revolutionary Guards are both the two powerful arms of the establishment and if one allows disagreements between them and gives advantages for each one and reduces the other, he is either ignorant or an enemy. The army and the Revolutionary Guards are two divine arms for the establishment of the Islamic Republic.”

He said that the army, the Revolutionary Guards and the Basij are the powerful arms of the establishment and said, “During the Sacred Defense Era [Iran-Iraq War], these organisations defended the Islamic establishment with their warriors, and now each of them, in turn, plays a role in providing security, peace and comfort for Iran.”

At the beginning of his speech, His Eminence, referring to the verse 122 of Surah al-Tawbah, which says: “Yet it is not for the faithful to go forth en masse. But why should not there a group from each of their sections go forth to become learned in religion, and to warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware?” and stated, “Hazrat Abolfazl Seminary, which gives opportunities for war veterans to study Islamic sciences as seminarians, has seminarians who have succeeded in both of these movements. They have fought jihad on the warfronts and they are diligent in propagating the religion of Islam.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani called the veterans “living martyrs” and said, “The relationship between the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the army is very important. Just as during the time of the Imams, concern and communication with these honourable individuals was the duty of the Muslims. Today, everybody must protect his relationship with the Wali al-Faqih [Guardian-Jurist], who is the source of the same guardianship as the Imams.”

He called upon the scholars of the Islamic Seminary to be aware and vigilant against the actions of the arrogant powers, such as the invasion of Syria, and realize that funding for these actions are being provided by Saudi Arabia and these actions are in line with the positions of the Zionists of the world.
