Cultural Week of Qom in Lebanon - 12

Khameyar: Qom’s Cultural Week in Lebanon will be held on May 9th

The 7th meeting of the organizers of the Qom’s Cultural Week in Lebanon was held on Sunday, April 8th, with the presence of Dr. Khameyar, Deputy Director of Culture and Communication Organization, in Qom Governerate.

According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency – ABNA –the 7th meeting of the organizers of the Qom’s Cultural Week in Lebanon was held on Sunday, April 8th, with the presence of Dr. Khameyar, Deputy Director of Culture and Communication Organization, in Qom Governerate.

“in terms of propaganda, we are facing difficulties due to huge and lie-spreading propaganda of the enemies in the region. Fortunately, our capabilities are so great, unique, and astonishing and there is fertile ground for us to carry out cultural, literary, economic, and artistic plans all over the world.”, Dr. Khameyar said.

“the capacities are huge but we have to be able to make use of them in different countries if we be able to manage them”, he added.

Speaking on the glory of Islamic Republic in the world he said, “an anchor on an Arabic TV program has recently said that the Arab regimes in the region spent billions of dollars to make Sadam rise against Islamic Republic, and in the end Iran won the whole Iraq. They spend a lot in Lebanon to destroy Hezbollah but in the end Iran won the whole Lebanon.

They did everything they could in the U.S and Iran won Europe. You comprise 5 perecent of the world population. However, 60% of immigrants are Arabs and you import 50% of the worlds weapons, fight each other and only pray for elimination of Israel. Alas, victory belongs to those who employ wisdom and reason.”

Speaking on political conditions in Lebanon, Khameyar Said, “once only Hezbollah was with us. Today it is the whole Lebanon. The foolishness of our enemies led to this. In the event of Sa’ad Hariri’s arrest, Saudi’s paid a huge price and lost most of their Sunni allies in the region, while the unity among the Shiite muslims in Lebanon strengthened.”

Speaing on the week-long event in Lebanon he said, “when Mr. Shariatmadar, Iran’s Cultural Advisor in Lebanon, brought up the idea of this event we accepted the idea wholeheartedly and have done our best to hold this event in the best way possible. There ae 3 important factors regarding the event. First, security. Second, the political devolopments in Lebanon which is beyond our control. And third, we ourselves and the Islamic Republic. Lebanon is particulary different and many things may develop in short time. In and event such as this there has to be total cooperation among authorities and governments of the two countries”.

“Lebanese authorities’ efforts in different levels is excellent. They consider all aspects and make the most precise decisions. Hezbollah considers the event trans-regional, apolitical and not limited to Shia Islam. We had to choose a city and since Nabtieh is a religious city in southern Lebanon we chose it to represent Qom.”, he continued.

Speaking on why the event has been postponed to another time he said, “everything had been prepared and taken care of, including the permissions. We have a great cooperation with Lebanese authorities on higher levels. We knew that there was going to be an election in Lebanon and everyone believed that the election will not have any interference with the Cultural event. However, some elements outside of Lebanon seek to sow the seeds of disagreement, sedition, and division. They have spent a lot of money on this too. Considering the current conditions, we decided to postpone the event to another time so that it will not be harmed and targeted by ill-wishers. We held meetings and discussions and in the end we decided to postpone the event to May 9th, 3 days after the election in Lebanon. We hope to be able to represent Qom as it is and display its real status”.

In the end, Dr. Khameyar said, “we should not consider this event as a one-time event. This has to be considered as the first step towards greater programs in future, in different cities and even countries.”
