Yemeni ballistic missile fired at Saudi base in Asir

Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported on Sunday that the base in al-Khamees district had been targeted with a short-range Badr-1 missile.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Yemeni army forces fired a domestically-manufactured ballistic missile at a military base in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern border region of Asir in retaliation for the Saudi regime’s relentless military aggression against the impoverished Arab country.

Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported on Sunday that the base in al-Khamees district had been targeted with a short-range Badr-1 missile.

The missile also inflicted heavy damage on the camp, killing and injuring several Saudi soldiers, the report added.

A radar system was also destroyed there following the attack.

The development came a day after Yemeni forces fired a ballistic missile at the Saudi state oil giant Aramco’s headquarters in the kingdom's southwestern Jizan region.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for over three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
