(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Turkish warplanes have unexpectedly struck a government-controlled Shiite-majority town and military checkpoint area in the northern countryside of Aleppo province amid an intensified air campaign over Syrian skies.
According to a statement released by local pro-government activists, Turkish aircraft bombed the town of Nubl an unspecified number of times. Early reports say that at least three civilians were killed in the strikes.
Furthermore, Turkish jets also hit the Al-Harash checkpoint area which serves as a crossing-point between government and Kurdish held areas; eight Syrian pro-government fighter have been killed.
All signs point towards a deliberate bombing of Nubl and Al-Harash checkpoint area the by the Turkish Air Force given the both places locations relatively well away from active combat areas in north Aleppo.
Turkish military authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
