(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Online activists reported that an unspecified number of prisoners of conscience had their cells raided in Bahrain’s Jaw Prison earlier in the week.
The news is only the latest in a long string of reports alleging continuing abuses against detainees at the facility.
Activists have reported that the prisoners are being prevented from attending their trials, confined to their cells and regularly have their personal belongings confiscated.
Detainees are also routinely denied access to desperately needed medical care and are punished for complaining or speaking out against the cruel practices.
