Iran's President to visit India on Thursday

President's Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Information said: "In this visit that is taking place to deepen bilateral relations in response to Mr Narendra Modi's last year visit to Tehran, Dr Hassan Rouhani will first arrive in Hyderabad located in India's Telangana state".

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran is visiting the Republic of India Thursday morning, 15 February 2018, for an official three-day visit to the country at the Indian Prime Minister's official invitation.

President's Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Information said: "In this visit that is taking place to deepen bilateral relations in response to Mr Narendra Modi's last year visit to Tehran, Dr Hassan Rouhani will first arrive in Hyderabad located in India's Telangana state".

Parviz Esmaeili said: "Meeting with Muslim scholars of Hyderabad and southern India, visiting cultural and religious centres, as well as meeting with Iranian students are among President's most important programmes".

He continued: "The official welcoming ceremony of Dr Rouhani will be held by the President and the Prime Minister of the Republic of India on Saturday in New Delhi, and after the meeting of the high-ranking delegations of the two countries, several memoranda of understanding are going to be signed and exchanged in the presence of senior Iranian and Indian officials".

The president of the President's Office for Communications and Information also added: "The President will address a gathering of Indian elites and intellectuals, attend a number of cultural events and have meetings".

During this visit, businesspeople from the private sector of the two countries will also have a meeting to examine the opportunities and potentials for cooperation and development of trade relations.

According to Esmaeili, Dr Rouhani is scheduled to leave New Delhi for Tehran late on Saturday, 17 February 2018.
