(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Two youths of different faiths, whose ideologies were same, entered into a wedlock in a simple ceremony here on Friday.

Shivakumar of Gulaghatta village in Malavalli taluk, and Nazreen of Hosapete, Ballari district, got married at Hindi Prachar Sabha in the city, following poet Kuvempu's 'mantra mangalya' ideologies.

Shivakumar is associated with Janshakti organisation while Nazreen is with a women's welfare organisation. The members of both the organisations were witness to the marriage.

The couple chose January 26, the Republic Day, for the wedding, as it is on this day, the Indian Constitution came into existence.

Speaking to DH, Shivakumar said that while working in a ready-made garments factory, books were my companion. "Inspired by the books, I chose to fight for the welfare of the people. I met Nazreen during one such movement." he said.

Nazreen said, "Both me and Shivakumar have a social responsibility and that united us and the important thing to us is our purpose nothing else."

Shivakumar's mother Chikkathayamma, family members, residents of Gulaghatta village, Nazreen's sister Shabana, Tabassum and actor Chetan were present.
