Nigerian Shias, inspired by Imam Khomeini: Rep. of Sheikh Zakzaky

Sheikh Lankaraneh, for his part, asserted that 60% of Nigeria’s population is Muslim and added, “20% of Nigeria’s Muslims are followers of Ahlul Bayt (as).”

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - In a meeting with Sheikh Muhammad Mustafa Lankaraneh, representative of Sheikh Zakzaky in the Northern Nigeria that was held in Qom, Hujjat al-Islam Abu al-Hussaini deputy director of research institute for Islamic proximity studies said, “Qur'an and love of Ahlul Bayt (as) are the two main axes for bringing forth proximity discussions between Muslims in Nigeria.”

Hujjat al-Islam Abu al-Hussaini said, “The Institute for Islamic proximity studies is ready for any research communication and collaboration with scientific institutions in the Northern Nigeria as well as making mutual understanding with the region’s scholars and while improving the research connections, we hope to see Muslim community becomes more and more united in the northern Nigeria.”

Sheikh Lankaraneh, for his part, asserted that 60% of Nigeria’s population is Muslim and added, “20% of Nigeria’s Muslims are followers of Ahlul Bayt (as).”

Representative of Sheikh Zakzaky then stressed on the future proximity activities in Nigeria and stated, “Nigerian Shias are mainly inspired by Imam Khomeini. In addition to establishing relations with all Islamic denominations, world forum for proximity of the Islamic schools of thought should try to explain various dimensions of Imam Khomeini’s personality to all Nigerian Muslims.”
