Pres. Rouhani: Trump's decision to move US embassy to Quds insolent, incorrect, unlawful

He added: "The incident we face today is very important. Quds and Bayt al-Maqdis are the land and the city that are important to us Muslims as well as Christians and Jews".

Dr Rouhani continued: "What is stranger in the land of Palestine is the Zionists. Muslims, Jews and Christians have lived together in this land for centuries".

"The incorrect, unlawful decision of the US president to move the US embassy to Quds and Bayt al-Maqdis was insolent to Muslims, because the land of Quds and Bayt al-Maqdis does not belong to a nation or a geographic region. This land is respected by all Muslims in the world. The Al-Aqsa mosque is the first qiblah of Muslims, and today it is the third holy place for Muslims," he said.

Dr Rouhani added: "This is all the conspiracy of Zionism and the Global Arrogance against Palestine and the World of Islam. This is the part that appears, and they are testing the feelings of Muslim and the public opinion of the World of Islam and the Palestinians themselves".

The president continued: "You see that from the very moment that this incorrect decision was made, the entire World of Islam stood up to protest. From the easternmost parts in Indonesia to the westernmost parts in Morocco, the entire World of Islam stood up.
Everybody condemned it, and fortunately, the overwhelming majority of the world's nations and politicians condemned it, and even some of the intellectuals and elites in the United States called this decision incorrect".

"The decision will be the beginning of a new tension in the region, and if Muslims maintain their unity and unanimity, and stand against this decision, it will be a great victory for Muslims and Palestinians. In these few days, the Palestinian people showed bravery and took to the streets to demonstrate and announced the new Intifada," he continued.

The president also went on to refer to his phone conversation yesterday with the Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and said: "He said that 4 Palestinian Muslims were killed in Gaza, and 1,500 were injured and are in hospitals. This movement that began in Palestine and the voice of unity that is heard today in Palestine, is the voice of unity of Muslims in Palestine and this is the first issue and the unity of the World of Islam is the second issue that can resist and stand against this conspiracy".

Dr Rouhani stated: "At the Istanbul Summit, we will tell the World of Islam and the participants in the summit that the issue of Quds is the issue of the entire World of Islam.
Today, unity and solidarity is the only way for us. We must stand up against the incorrect decision of the United States at the same time and condemn it and say that this is not possible and if Americans want to do so, our region will face a great catastrophe".

"The Global Arrogance, over the past few years, has turned the issue of Palestine into the second issue in the region with the help of terrorism that it has promoted in the region, and thought that the issue of Palestine was forgotten and erased from the minds of the people," Dr Hassan Rouhani continued.

Rouhani pointed out: "This incident, despite its ominous nature, was also a positive point in the history of the World of Islam. Because all Muslims shouted together and became united and displayed their unity. They told everyone that the issue of Palestine was always the first issue in the World of Islam. They told everyone they would not forget Palestine".

"Our message at the Istanbul Summit will be that Quds is always the first issue of the World of Islam and Muslims, and Bayt al-Maqdis is always a holy land for all of us, and we Muslims, in all international communities, and especially in the United Nations, should condemn this action of the United States," Rouhani said.

He continued: "We must announce our firm support of the Palestinian people, and until the Palestinians return to their homeland and do not enjoy their righteous rights, this movement must continue in the entire World of Islam, and the intifada of the Palestinian people will continue until they achieve their goals".
