Encyclopedia of narrative interpretation published in Jeddah

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A comprehensive encyclopedia of narrative interpretation in Arabic was published in 24 volumes in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

According to gulfeyes.net, the work titled "Mosou’ah Al-Tafseer Al-Ma’thur” (encyclopedia of narrative interpretation) took 10 years to be compiled and published by the Center for Quranic Studies affiliated to "Imam Shatibi” Quran Sciences Institute.

Nouh ibn Yahya Shahri, director of the institute, said that the main objective of the project was to complete the efforts taken in this respect so far and to provide a comprehensive collection of the holy prophet’s (PBUH) Hadiths on interpretation of Quran.

The encyclopedia also includes viewpoints and discussions of eminent Quran interpreters and the entire work has been edited by 5 Quran interpretation experts.

The center, specialized in Quranic researches, has published 37 works on various educational programs, scientific encyclopedias and two Quranic quarterlies.

Narrative interpretation is a kind of interpretation of Quranic verses which is based on Hadiths from the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and narrations from his Sahaba (companions) and Tabi’een (followers).
