Iran's President: Arba'een symbol of love for Prophet's family

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - President Rouhani described the great procession of Arba'een as a symbol of love of Muslims and our nation for the family of the Prophet and the Ahlul Bayt (AS) and added: "Love for Imam Hussein (AS) is very important for our nation with regard to Islamic culture, freedom and liberty, religious democracy and culture, the high culture of sacrifice and martyrdom".

Sustainable financial resources, environmental protection, observance of the scientific and native principles of urbanisation, combatting corruption and maintaining spirit, vitality and public participation are among the most important duties of urban management.

Dr Hassan Rouhani met with the chairman and members of the City Council, as well as the Mayor of Tehran, and described Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani a person who loved people, saying: "He was a teacher of tolerance and love for the nation and prosperity of Iran".

The head of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution also referred to the passionate and significant attendance of people in the elections of 2013, 2015, and 2017 and noted: "The first response to hope, vitality and popular vote is unity between the government, parliament and city councils, including Tehran City Council to serve citizens and national and local development".

Dr Rouhani also referred to the presence of the mayor of Tehran in the meetings of the government as a symbol of cooperation between the executive branch and the city administration, adding: "The presence of a specialist, experienced mayor, who was unanimously chosen, is an advantage of the council and the city of Tehran".

The president described "sustainable financing" and "maintaining spirit, vitality and social participation" as two main axes in the management of metropolitan cities, saying: "Councils and city halls should move with the help and support of the government. The old architecture of Tehran is one of the most attractive elements of the capital, and we can expand proper tourist areas ".

The president also emphasised protection of the environment, in particular protection of the remaining gardens and development of landscapes, adaptation of architecture and urbanism to scientific principles and indigenous patterns, attention to cultural affairs in the direction of promoting social vitality, cooperation of all the institutions for controlling air pollution, urban railways development and public transportation".

Dr Rouhani stressed the need to confront corruption and block its prerequisites, adding: "The country's pride is dependent on decisive and non-aligned combat in public and executive bodies against corruption."

He also mentioned the problem for Zoroastrian member of Yazd city council and continued: "I will never hesitate in carrying out my legal duties and promises and programs that I have given to the people".
