The competition was held for university students by the Iran-Philippines Friendship Society in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center.
More than 100 students from different universities of the Philippines attended the awarding ceremony.
Addressing the event, Iranian Cultural Attaché Mohammad Jafarimalek said the competition was aimed at encouraging university students to learn about the culture of Ashura.
He noted that in Shia Islam, the message of Ashura is one of bravery and Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
Jafarimalek said such a contest on the culture of Ashura and Imam Hussein (AS) uprising will be held in universities in Manila next year.
The selected works submitted to this year’s competition have been put on display at the Iranian Cultural Center.
