President Rouhani: Eid al-Adha teaches us throwing stones to devil must continue

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - President Rouhani chaired a cabinet session on Wednesday and commemorated the day of martyrdom of Rajai and Bahonar, saying: "Rajai and Bahonar were men who had chosen the way of sacrifice from the first day of their lives".

"These days remind us of the very complicated and hard days of the end of the 1970s and beginning of the 1980s in the Islamic Republic of Iran; the days the Revolution and our Islamic government were under pressure by the conspiracies of major world powers, especially the USA," continued Rouhani.

He also went on to say: "I those days, some groups inside the country used the opportunity. They were in fact following orders of the superpowers and their masters. What is now seen throughout the world regarding ISIS and their savage crimes is like those happened in Iran in those years".

He also went on to say: "Our people have endured vary hard times, defending the Revolution, their government and their country, never giving up hope. Serious wounds could not make our people surrender".

"We need to use the opportunity we have in this week to explain what we have done. People must be informed about what has been done, to criticise and guide the administration on the right path," the President added.

Eid al-Adha teaches us that throwing stones to the devil must continue, the President added, saying: "Everybody is tested in their lives and God rewards them based on the same tests".

Dr Rouhani also went on to say that we will be considered benevolent when we give what we love deeply in the way of God. He added: "The families of martyrs lived like Abraham, giving up their children on the way of God".

Referring to Martyr Hojaji's powerful look, the president added: "This was the best manifestation of Iran's power. This shows how much young Iranians are ready to make sacrifices for their lofty goals".

"Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr are our two great religious and Islamic celebrations and all Muslims respect these two celebrations. We must learn from these two great celebrations that we must stop bloodshed in the region because of Islam and Islamic mercy," continued the President.

Dr Rouhani also said: "We must join hands and stop bloodshed and violence in the region, making the region peaceful. As a great country, Iran is very powerful but patient; we won't use power unless for defence".

"I hope that leaders of Islamic countries learn the lesson of these days and celebrations and we witness peace and stability in the region and in all countries soon, seeing bloodshed stopped and our region become the land of brotherhood and great culture of Islamic mercy".
